“When was the last time you did something for the first time?”
March was busy, busy, busy for me! First, we had a house warming party to finally show off our apartment to our friends...it only took 1 year! We invited friends over for a typical American style potluck and enjoyed the night with good food, good wine, and great friends!
Jorge also played in the Don Alonso Orchestra concert on Saint Patricks Day. He has played with this orchestra before and it helps that the auditorium/concert hall is next to our house!
And of course we celebrated Easter! And what would be Easter without Easter baskets, eggs, and and Easter Egg hunt. Now, for those of you that don’t know, the Easter Bunny doesn’t exist here in Spain. They don’t decorate eggs, have baskets, or have the Easter Bunny. In some parts of Spain, they have chocolate eggs and sweets, often the godparents give the chocolate eggs to their godchildren. Anyways, we had an official Easter Egg Hunt here in my house. Jorge got to experience for the first time a true Easter! I hid the eggs around the house and where did he find his Easter basket???.... In the washing machine of course!
It was also Holy Week here in Spain. Various groups walk through the streets of the city playing music and carrying wooden structures depicting the life of Jesus. It is a very different experience to anything that we have in the US and is worth seeing!
